Peter Dixon joins Prophet as Creative Director
NEW YORK (August 11, 2008) – Peter Dixon, well-known in the marketing and retail communities for his experiential design thinking and work, has joined Prophet as a senior partner and creative director, the firm announced today.
Dixon, 50, joins Prophet from Lippincott, where he has been a senior partner and creative director. He will work from Prophet’s New York City office on global client engagements.

Dixon is a registered architect who, for over 15 years, has applied that training as a consultant in the areas of corporate identity, branding and design. His particular expertise has been the translation of positioning and business strategy into award-winning retail concepts, through store design, interior design and exhibitions. His award-winning programs have spanned all areas of the brand experience, ranging from building design to retail concepts and merchandising systems. He has worked for such notable clients as BMW, Citibank, Citizens Bank, Chrysler, IBM, Microsoft, McDonalds, Nissan, Sprint, Samsung, and Wal-Mart.
Dixon is a popular public speaker and often is tapped as a source by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Brandweek, Newsweek, Visual Merchandising & Store Design, Convenience Store News, and Advertising Age.
A member of the American Institute of Architects, he is registered as an architect in the State of New York. He serves on the editorial board of VM+SD magazine, and is a past national president of the Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD). He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana State University and a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Texas.
