EXPERT PROFILE
Bates Crawford
Associate, Verbal Branding
New York
Bates is a verbal branding associate based out of Prophet's New York office. A captivating after-school Storytelling Workshop at the age of eight was her first real venture into the writing world, and she hasn't looked back since. Her philosophy is that a brand's success hinges on conversation. Effective language takes any brand further — whether it has a proven track record or has not yet become more than an idea.
Before joining Prophet, Bates worked at PBS Books, where she helped produce talks with New York Times bestselling authors and partnered with the Library of Congress to coordinate programming for their National Book Festival. She also worked in researching and developing franchises for Tory Daily, the editorial site of Tory Burch.
Bates earned a B.A. in English, a certificate in ethics, and a minor in sociology from Duke University. In the times she's not thinking of the "just right" words, you can find Bates exploring NYC (her hometown) solo or with friends, through experiencing cultural activities (museums, musicals, and more), taking long walks (to people watch), and eating delicious food (usually Mediterranean).
