Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
Modern slavery is a crime resulting in an abhorrent abuse of the human rights of vulnerable workers. It can take various forms, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labor, and human trafficking.
Prophet Brand Strategy and its global affiliates (collectively “Prophet”) has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all of its business dealings and relationships. We are dedicated to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place anywhere within our business or supply chains, consistent with our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
We expect the same high standards from all of our suppliers, contractors, and other business partners. As part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of modern slavery. We expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to these same standards.
Prophet is a global management consultancy helping businesses achieve growth by transforming marketing into a strategic driver of success. We uncover customer insights, create value propositions and design integrated campaigns that connect with audiences and deliver measurable results. Leveraging AI to simulate audiences, predict trends and craft on-brand content, we enable marketing that is faster, smarter and more effective. We operate in EMEA, North America and APAC. We do not operate in sectors or geographies considered to carry the highest risk of modern slavery. However, we recognize that no supply chain is entirely without risk, and we take our responsibilities seriously.
We recognize that identifying potential victims of modern slavery can be challenging because the crime manifests itself in many different ways. We accept responsibility through our due diligence processes to ensure that workers are not being exploited, that they are safe, and that relevant employment, health and safety, and human rights laws and standards are being adhered to, including freedom of movement and communications.
Our due diligence process includes reviewing all new suppliers and contractors before engagement, with specific checks on their modern slavery policies and compliance practices. All supplier and contractor agreements include clear contractual prohibitions against modern slavery and human trafficking. Where we engage freelance or contract workers, we use reputable platforms and agencies and satisfy ourselves that workers are engaged on fair and lawful terms. We keep our supplier relationships under regular review and take prompt action, including terminating relationships, if concerns are identified.
As a management consultancy, our direct operations carry a relatively low risk of modern slavery. The areas we consider to carry the greatest risk within our supply chain are the procurement of technology hardware where labor standards may be less easily verified. We mitigate this by prioritizing US, UK, and EU-based suppliers, applying contractual safeguards requiring compliance with international labour standards, remaining alert to indicators of exploitation during our working relationships, and requesting evidence of third-party audits and certifications (such as SA8000 or similar standards) from hardware suppliers where available.
This policy applies to all individuals working for Prophet or on Prophet’s behalf in any capacity, including employees, directors, officers, agency workers, volunteers, agents, contractors, consultants, and business partners.
The board of directors has overall responsibility for ensuring that this policy complies with Prophet’s legal and ethical obligations. The directors have day-to-day responsibility for implementing this policy, monitoring its use and effectiveness, auditing internal control systems and procedures to ensure they are effective in preventing or remediating modern slavery risks, and investigating allegations of modern slavery in our business or supply chains. Line managers are responsible for ensuring that those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy.
The prevention, detection, and reporting of modern slavery in any part of Prophet’s business or supply chains is the responsibility of all those working for us or under our control. Prophet is committed to encouraging openness and will support anyone who raises genuine concerns in good faith under this policy, even if they turn out to be mistaken. We ensure that no one suffers any detrimental treatment or victimization as a result of reporting in good faith their suspicion that modern slavery is or may be taking place in any part of our business or supply chains.
If you see or suspect a breach of this policy or believe modern slavery is taking place, report it immediately by email at hr@prophet.com or by phone at +447720497341, or by contacting the government’s Modern Slavery Helpline on 0800 0121 700 for further information and guidance.
All staff receive annual modern slavery awareness training to enable them to identify signs of exploitation and modern slavery, report suspected cases confidently and safely, and understand their responsibilities under this policy. Modern slavery awareness training is included as part of the onboarding process for all new employees. Prophet’s zero tolerance approach to modern slavery is communicated to all suppliers, contractors, and other business partners when entering into new or renewed contracts with them.
We assess the effectiveness of our approach through the following measures: the inclusion of modern slavery prohibitions in 100% of new supplier and contractor agreements; completion of modern slavery awareness training by all staff; prompt investigation and resolution of any concerns raised; and annual review of this statement by the board of directors. To date, no incidents of modern slavery have been identified within our business or supply chain. We remain committed to reviewing and strengthening our approach on an ongoing basis.
Any employee who breaches this policy will face disciplinary action, up to and including summary dismissal for gross misconduct. Prophet may terminate its commercial relationship with suppliers, contractors, and other business partners if they breach this policy and/or are found to have been involved in modern slavery.
