Prophet Strengthens Financial Services Team Adding Two Senior Transformation Leaders

SAN FRANCISCO – Prophet, the global consultancy, is continuing its commitment to grow and strengthen its financial services team in order to help our clients drive uncommon transformational growth by adding two new senior hires. Gordon Smith joins the firm as senior partner and co-lead of the financial services vertical and Chris Stauch as partner. They bring expertise in transformation, innovation experience and human-centered design to the firm, helping Prophet continue to deliver exceptional consulting services to its financial services clients.

Both Smith and Stauch join Prophet from Deloitte Digital. Smith was a principal leading the financial services teams within Deloitte Studios. He started his career at Accenture and later was a founding team member of an investment management firm that was spun out of Morgan Stanley and later acquired by PIMCO.

Smith invokes a balance of research, provocation, empathy and capability development when helping clients bridge the chasm from imagination to transformation. Whether working with a Fortune 500 company or an emerging FinTech, he believes brands can only succeed when they are purpose-driven. He embraces human-centered design with the mission of creating value for customers, the enterprise and society.

He led the experience design offering for financial services at Deloitte Digital where he worked with a myriad of clients including Transamerica, UBS, New York Life, Ameriprise, Thrivent, and Bank of America. He began his career at Organic, leading experience design and marketing creative.

Cara Capretta Joins Prophet as Chief People Officer

SAN FRANCISCO – Prophet, the global growth consultancy, announced that Cara Capretta has joined the firm as its new chief people officer. In her role, she will lead the global people team, providing the strategic vision to develop and implement a new and innovative talent strategy for the high-growth firm. Capretta will also serve as a member of the executive committee where she will help build an employer value proposition that drives the firm’s ability to attract, engage, develop and retain the highest quality talent in addition to championing the firm’s culture.  Capretta replaces Kevin O’Donnell who retired after 22 years at Prophet.

Capretta has more than 30 years of experience in the people and talent space. Most recently, she spent a decade in Oracle’s Human Capital Transformation practice, helping a wide range of companies and their chief human resource officers build more modern, business-oriented HR organizations supported by cloud-based technologies and workflow. Previously, Capretta was president and COO at Lominger, which was a pioneer in competency-based HR tools including 360 feedback, leadership development tips, behavioral interview guides and organizational assessment tools. The business was subsequently sold to Korn Ferry, one of the largest executive search firms, where she remained to lead the global deployment and adoption of these capabilities.

Springbox Strikes Gold at the 2021 MarCom Awards

AUSTIN –Springbox, a Prophet company, received recognition from the 2021 MarCom Awards for excellence in digital experience design. The Marcom Awards is one of the largest and most prestigious international creative competitions, with over 6,500 entries annually and entrants ranging from Fortune 500 companies to individual creatives.

Springbox received a gold distinction in the Digital Media category among non-profit websites for its work with the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library.

“The team came together to build a digital solution that would stand the test of time like LBJ’s legacy,” said Stephen Brooks, director of engineering at Springbox. “Using a specialized combination of experience design technologies, we were able to help not only digitize the library but also provide flexibility, allowing interactive exhibits to come to life on any device.”

Springbox was retained to improve website navigation and user experience while digitally connecting both archivists and visitors to the rich history held by the library. After an experience strategy was established, the Springbox team created a custom digital website that would allow the library’s site administrators to easily add and optimize autonomous content.

Prior to Prophet, Layla held executive creative director roles at frog and Interbrand– defining and designing innovative digital solutions with her teams – as well as Sony and Deutsche Telekom, serving a client-side role.
